Queen City Cruise
August 9, 2008
Sorry. Queen City Cruise: Project Gangplank is now sold out.
If you need a question answered, please email
bruce@ttca.org.
Enjoy the show
With or without a ticket, everyone is invited to Pier 55 at 11:00 am on Saturday for the
incredible
Project Gangplank Pre-Boarding Show. The show stars Alexys Champagne, Poison Waters, Chablis, and Mark "Mom" Finley and is hosted by the outstanding Tony Buff, and -- coming to us direct from Maimi Beach -- Marina Dennis.
Or make your way to the Ballard
Locks at about 12:45 for a continuation of
the show aboard the boat. Catch the outbound show at the Locks between 3:00 and 3:30.
Standby ticket reminders
Time of boarding: It's best to be at the dock by 11:30 (or
even earlier so that you can enjoy the pre-boarding show). Michael, our ticket manager, will start
rounding up standby holders at that time. But we don't usually start loading standby holders
until after 11:45. Being there when it's your time to board is what matters.
Refunds for multiple-ticket
parties: In most cases, a buyer of multiple standby tickets will get a refund for any member of the
party that isn't present, but there are some exceptions:
We'll refund the the buyer for unused tickets only if both
of these conditions are met: (1) at least one member of the party is present for standby
boarding and (2) there are enough standby ticket holders present to fill the boat.
Although we
hope to get all of our Standby Guests onto the boat, there is a chance that a few
of those at the end of the list may have to be turned away. We really
hate to do that, and we
try to sell only enough of these tickets to give everyone a fighting chance of getting into the party.
But if the worst happens, and we have to turn you away, then you'll get a full refund of your
purchase price.
And, hey, if you are left on the dock, you could still drown your sorrows in food or booze. Cruise
sponsors Rosebud Restaurant and Martin's Off Madison are both open early on Saturday for
brunch and cocktails. Cruise sponsor R-Place opens at 2 pm and Purr opens at 3 pm. Changes
in Wallingford is open from noon on. Going there could even allow you to greet Cruisers at the Locks (inbound at about 12:45; outbound between 3:00 and 3:30) or maybe Gasworks Park.
Ticket Refunds
We appreciate early ticket buyers, but understand that plans must sometimes
be changed in the weeks between now and Cruise Day on August 9 so we
will offer refunds again this year to those with legitimate reasons for
the request.
Email your refund request to us.
These are the rules:
- No refunds
on Cruise Day. (Except to standby ticket holders who are in the line
and can't be boarded.) Please don't ask volunteers about it at the dock. If
you're holding tickets for friends, make sure they get to Pier 55 in time for
the 11:30 am boarding. If they don't make it, then they miss out on the party
and you lose the cost of their tickets. Make sure they understand.
- Refund requests must be received by 7 pm on Friday, August 8
-- the evening before the Cruise.
Please include a phone number in your request.
- A $5 service fee will be assessed for each refunded
ticket after you've mailed the unused ticket back to us. (We will reverse $45 of
your charge if you paid through our PayPal button or mail you a check if that
doesn't work.)
